U of A Programming Contest

Saturday, March 16, 10am - 3pm

The University of Alberta Programming Club is pleased to announce the next installment of the U of A Programming Contest (UAPC) to take place on Saturday, March 16 from 10am - 3pm.

This is a programming contest involving teams of up to 3 students where the problems are focused on algorithmic thinking. As always, grade-school students are welcome to attend, there is no registration fee. Specific information on the event as well as the registration form can be found here: https://uapspc.github.io/uapc/index.html

We ask that all participants become familiar with how to get a submission accepted to the contest platform before coming to the event. You can do this by solving the easy problem linked from the event page.

Feel free to direct any questions to me: zacharyf@ualberta.ca

I hope to see you there!

I am also excited to announce the Dr. Piotr Rudnicki Memorial Award in Computing Science. This is an entrance scholarship valued at $5,000 that was introduced last year. Preference for this award goes to a student who has participated in the UAPC: https://alberta.academicworks.ca/opportunities/8015
All new U of A students who are starting a program in Computing Science are considered eligible by default, there is no separate application process. If you are interested in this award, you are invited (but not required) to provide more information about your programming contest background when you submit the registration form for the UAPC.
